In the winter parlor

"Folk Culture Afternoon with Book Presentation by Christa Gschwandtner from Bad Ischl" On Sunday, January 18, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM, a cozy folk culture afternoon will take place in the parish hall of Bad Ischl. Under the motto: "In the winter parlor," the Stoaberg singers from Berchtesgaden, harpist Julia Langwieder, the Ischler dance musicians, the singing group "Nix für Unguat," and other groups from the Salzkammergut will perform. Peter Gillesberger will serve as the speaker for the afternoon.

A comfortable parlor atmosphere will be created, and a highlight of the afternoon will be when the Ischler dialect poetess Christa Gschwandtner presents her first book "Mei Geschenk an di," featuring poems, stories, and thoughts from the Salzkammergut in dialect and written language. Christa will share humorous anecdotes from her new book, as well as stories from her life, appropriate to the season, and about God and the world.

I have often been asked: "When will there finally be a book from you?" Now the time has come; after nearly three decades of writing, my first book has been published, and I would like to invite you to the presentation in Ischl, says the author.

It will be a cozy, wintry "retreat" with music, singing, traditions, and culinary delights on Sunday afternoon. Admission: Voluntary donations, free seating!
